It would have been dishonest of the movie to not conclude that Graysmith was essentially convinced of Allen. The movie makes it clear that this is an unsubstantiated accusation, and actually gets a lot of mileage out of it. Starting the movie on July 4 also wasn't a factual error. The movie starts then, because the first letters arrive after that murder, the beginning of the investigation. That's when Zodiac became Zodiac. The movie is about Zodiac's effect on the characters, and that didn't start until after the July 4 murders. The only error would then be putting Graysmith in the chronicle before he actually worked there, but that doesn't really interfere with the facts of the case either.<br /><br />good review, though.
